It's a true masterpiece and I doubt it needs any introduction. Everything about this game is incredibly polished and improves all aspects of the previous two games. However, I do recommend that you watch at least the playthrough of the first Metroid game on NES first if you don't know that one. Since it takes place on the same planet, you will notice many similarities and little details that connect these two games.
