This is the start of a playthrough of an old computer role playing game. The beginning is somewhat unforgiving due to a lack of gold (for healing and decent equipment), packs of monsters that will destroy you if you are unable to run away in the opening town, and weak spellcasters at the start. I had one successful playthrough earlier, but opted not to leech gold, experience, or items from the other party (I think a fresh install of the game may have a pregenerated party with a fire horn, which would be nice vs. early rough encounters, but the early game is not impossible without it).
